I just won an e-bay auction for an Acer c720 Chromebook with a broken screen for only $51 with free shipping. I also just found out it can run Half Life 2. Now I know how I’m spending my lunches from now on.

How you loads HL2? I have an Acer Chromebook13 (Tegra K1) running Ubuntu and using it for Cuda development.

I’m reading this on a c720 right now. Definitely not the best Chromebook, but for that price you can not go wrong

That I’m not sure of yet. I will find out when it arrives though.

My wife has the HP 14 with the same CPU and the same amount of ram and storage space and it’s plenty good for anything I intend to use it for. If I need more horsepower I’ve still got my desktop.

WOW that is awesome I might have to look into one. My old laptop died and my new place has ZERO room for my desktop.

Yeah, I’ve had to take apart my wife’s chromebook twice now but parts are cheap and they’re pretty easy to work on so I’m happy with it and look forward to getting mine.

The only way you’re playing Half Life on a Chromebook is by wiping out the ChromeOS installation and installing a Linux Distro on it.

love my little Dell Chome II - works great and cheap enough so I don’t care what happens to it so I can take it anywhere. And the boot time is wicked fast.
